PRAYER STATIONS
Seasonally, prayer stations are set up in the chapel for individual use.
These stations use activities that appeal to the senses, use different postures for prayer,
offer non-traditional tools or methods for praying,
or re-introduce some ancient practices.
AT CHURCH--

See. Hear. Smell. Touch. Taste.
Follow these simple directions--
What comes to mind when you (see, hear, smell, touch, or taste) it?
What memories or feelings rise up?
In what ways does this make you think of God? Or if it does not, why?
In what way do you think God can be worshiped through this item?

HEART--find a photo of a person in a magazine or newspaper, focus on the feelings, what are you feeling? look in the mirror. Do you see that feeling reflected?
MIND-- Explore some authors that speak of the spirit, i.e. Marcus Borg, Henri Nouwen, Thomas Merton, Rob Bell. Find one to read and connect to God through your mind.
SOUL--Picture your soul as having rooms. Is God welcome in every room of your soul? Meditate on what goes on in the different rooms and how you might include God
STRENGTH--Use weights to do bicep curls, do jumping jacks, or some other kind of exercise until you feel a slight fatigue. Doesn't it feel good to use your body. Think of all of the physical aspects of your life. How is God included? Think of a daily practice that would invite God into the busy-ness of your life.
